"Harris immediately framed her candidacy with a specific false reference to this case as a contest of 'prosecutor vs. convicted felon,'" Trump's filing says.

Harris' framing is an "inaccurate attack," it adds, without describing an inaccuracy. Harris is a former district attorney for San Francisco and attorney general for California; in May, Trump became the first former president convicted of a felony.

This is straight out of the reich wing playbook; they'll complain about how this or that is a lie, but they will never fucking ever actually specify what was the part that was incorrect. They just go "librul lies!" and their base eats it the fuck up

If you've ever known a particular type of abusive person, this is a pretty standard tactic. Information I don't want you to say is "lies," and if you say it, I will attack you. Information I want you to say is "the truth." These categories are extremely consistent and play a pivotal role in the abuse; if you view the terminology in that light, a lot of things (like not even pretending there is some factual backing needed for the claim of "an inaccurate attack") start to make sense.

Oh yeah, there's some research pointing towards conservatives being more likely to have dark triad personality traits (see for example this article) so this isn't very surprising

more likely to have dark triad personality traits

That article could just be titled "Who is Donald Trump"

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Yeah funny how conservatives tend to gravitate towards leaders like that…

Reading stuff about abusers gets me freshly enraged all over again. I wish we had classes on recognizing abuse in schools. Maybe some classes on media literacy, that'd be helpful too.

For my mother, her favorite particular accusation currently is “Marxist Script”. Everything she doesn’t like is from a “Marxist script”. Of course, when I ask her from which of Marx’s works is this so-called “script“ that talks about Donald Trump being a racist, she launches into even more insults.

It's straight up narcissism. There is nothing unique about Trump's methods. He follows the narcissist playbook perfectly.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It’s also, you know, the truth. Because Trump is now a convicted felon.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

No no, it's a lie. Definitely a lie. Not going to tell you why it's a lie, but it's a lie.

[–] [email protected] 98 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Trump is such a weird little snowflake.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I'm 100% making a bumper sticker that says "Don't be Weird"

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Be weird. Just not Republican weird.

Maybe he shouldn't have committed felonies if he didn't want to be called a felon?

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 month ago

Pffsshh. Those names and rules obviously don’t apply to Trump and the things he does!

[–] [email protected] 55 points 1 month ago

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

Jim Carrey needs to do a sequel to liar liar, where hes working as a campaign manager for a presidential nominee and that nominee has the mystic voodoo cant tell a lie schtick happen to them.

Perhaps after the public finds a video of them cutting down an apple tree

[–] [email protected] 36 points 1 month ago (3 children)

So Dementia Don the racist rapist with 34 felonies is upset he was called a felon? Dementia must really be kicking in if forgot he's a 34 time felon. He's too old and should just drop out. It's embarrassing at this point.

Dementia Don the racist rapist with 34 felonies

Dementia Don, the racist rapist, Khaleesi of the great grass sea, with 34 felonies.

Try it again.

Will he become The Unburnt? He already promised to pardon the Jan 6ers if he wins.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Huh, weird.

Oh very sorry Sir Civilly Convicted Rapist Donald Trump.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 month ago (4 children)

Trump's "regurgitated" complaints about Loren Merchan's work with Harris have already failed twice, including at the appellate level, and amount to little more than "overheated, hyperbolic rhetoric," prosecutors added.

At some point, you have to quit filing the same garbage motion over and over again with slightly different details.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

It has worked for him for decades. This case where it has not worked is the anomaly for him.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

I feel like he'll take that as a challenge

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

He won't because he can't. That man is completely broken.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

A million times no, and only one yes needed.

Welcome to the real world

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 month ago

Sorry, Sport. You can’t appoint them all.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

Hey Donnie, she called you a felon because you are a felon! Thirty four times, to be precise! Remember all those days you sat sulking in court? I mean yeah, you were asleep most of that time, but surely you remember the judge dunking on you multiple times for your stupid bullshit?

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

Fucking lol

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

He is a felon and more.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago

He’s the weirdest felon out there

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago

He is one though.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

At the same time he claims that black people like him because he‘s a felon…
