Life support e.g aboard a ship it is the combination of all systems responsible for maintaining a safe environment for the crew.

Life support e.g someone in bad/critical condition being kept alive through medical equipment.

OP does not realize the second meaning is just a huge self-own as it is an admission modern capitalism is only barely keeping everyone alive instead of creating wealth and prosperity for all.

Seriously I know the fields of Econ and Poli-sci are bullshit, but we all know that some familiarity with the liberal economic and political systems is required to overtake it (i.e. you might need to legitimize power through both/either means, at least temporarily).
