this is really cool, honestly I wish this had become mainstream instead of GPS, it would have made the conversion to automated vehicles so much easier. Instead of having to worry about pathing the system could have worked using the address system linked directly to the road, the only thing it would need is cameras to be sure it won't collide with anything, positioning could be via the antenna instead of the wildly inaccurate GPS, plus it would work in tunnels/heavy metal areas. That being said, price wise this would be a far more expensive startup price
The problem is that high tech place on road are more easily stolen (by hobo) than thing high up in the sky.
oh yeah, poor people are always the problem
I mean, someone like Elon Musk (probably) isn't stealing the copper from charging stations to fund his drug habits, the ultra-wealthy have far more efficient ways of stealing from society. People being desperate enough to steal wiring from infrastructure is definitely a problem, even if it's a symptom of greater issues.
