Lots of people have been raised to think "government is bad" without any critical thoughts about what the alternatives to government would realistically be.

I don't think that we currently know enough about physics to say for sure that faster than light travel is impossible.

I think it's likely that there are still scientific breakthroughs to be discovered that will make currently impossible things possible.

I agree with the person who said there was a lot of personal drama as filler that didn't add to the story and dragged the pace of the books down.

I thought the books are mostly OK but I kind of lost interest after book 6 and it'll probably be quite a while before I go back to finish the last few books if I ever do.
