Oh no!

…anyway.

Cooked to medium rare. Juicy. Toasted bun. Lettuce, tomato, cheese, and maybe even a fried egg.

An overcooked, dry burger is just not edible for me.

Already off to a better start than last week. Last week my 1 year old tested positive for Covid. My wife and I both got it, but had to suffer through while parenting. By the time the three of us recovered, my 3 year old ended up getting it. Seems we’re all finally healthy again to start off this week.

Yeah, there is a generic college football community and NFL community, too. I mod the college football one.

A few niche ones.

I also mod a couple with Blaze, which do have a good bit of discussion.

I’m tired, boss.

They are petty dead. I’m finding less and less time to post content to keep them active. But I’m trying.

I thought it was entertaining. But the story didn’t do it for me. That said, I’ll be going to see it a second time with my wife today.

It had nothing to do with the last supper.

Not sure how I feel about this one…

Don’t put your finger in the dog’s butthole, please.

My 14 month old had a short wake up at 2:40am. For whatever reason (work stress, mostly) I couldn’t get back to sleep. I’ll be running on about 4 hours of sleep and caffeine today.

A 3 year old and 1 year old. Today, for the first time, my 3 year old daughter put some nail polish on my toes. Feeling beautiful over here.

Hi Dads,

I made a post over in [email protected] about possibly consolidating the many dad groups down to just one (at least for now) to encourage activity.

The general consensus was that we focus discussion over at [email protected] because, among some other reasons, it’s the only community that seems to have an active mod.

I hope you’ll join me in posting over there!

Right now on Lemmy we have a bunch of dad-based communities with varying levels of discussion. From the ones I can find, we have:

[email protected] - last few posts were about a month ago. Mod was last active 10 months ago.

[email protected] - last couple posts were about 2 months ago. The post before that was about 5 months ago. Not sure about mod activity.

[email protected] - last post was yesterday, with some other posts in past few weeks. Mod was last active 6 months ago.

[email protected] - last post was a few weeks ago, with a couple months in between posts after that. Mod was last active 10 months ago.

[email protected] - last couple posts were a week ago. With about a month or so between posts after that. Both mods were last active a year ago.

[email protected] - last post was 3 months ago. Mod was last active 2 months ago.

[email protected] - last post was about a month ago, and the one before that was about 4 months ago. Mod was last active today.

To help facilitate discussion, what do you all think about consolidating the dad-based discussion to one of those groups (preferably a somewhat moderated one, which just seems to be fatherverse…) for now?

Shutting the brain down for a week.

Doge and "banana for scale" were big in those days. I swear.

Does anyone here on Lemmy log into a Remote Desktop on their iPad using VMWare Horizon? How’s the experience?

This weekend I aim to relax as much as my children will let me. But my younger daughter turns one on Sunday. So, we’ll likely celebrate that.

I’ve noticed that links often contain duplicative text if you don’t have the compact link setting selected. The post title is usually the link headline, and then part of the link body is usually displayed right under the title. Then, on the link, the same exact headline and body are shown again on the link preview. See image for example. Not a huge deal, but could save some space to eliminate the duplicative text in the link preview.

Sample of duplicative text on links

Awesome work on the multi-communities! I haven’t had a chance to extensively test it, but I set one up quickly. Liking it a lot so far!

This community is to discuss all things about Southwest Florida. Things to do. News. Questions. Or anything else about the area.

Southwest Florida is considered to be south of the Tampa Bay area, west of Lake Okeechobee, and mostly north of the Everglades, including Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties.
