Thank you for your service

I say this without judgement as a fellow carnist, but you can definitely get away with eating less meat than you think. It's just a matter of figuring out how to prep and cook other protein sources.

I've got myself up to "almost vegan" except for when visiting family. Next step is bringing my own grillables lol that'll be to-do, I just know it

When the weather turns cold and all the other kids are just... away

Reminds me of the old "how much does a tonne of feathers weigh?"

I mean some people just freeze up around numbers. That's not the end of the world as long as they know suck at that.

Like I'm a programmer and I'm like comically bad at math. Like 3 Stooges bad. If I'm forced to do math on the spot I will expand a lot of energy figuring out exactly the wrong thing.

Oh just any kind, preferably without sugar, preferably it's hot and sunny out

How about just "people"

It's harder but it's possible. I've never done it in a place like lemmy because, like you said, we have a good time in this thread then get in with our lives.

But I have had friendships with people from smaller communities, like those on forums - where you have maybe 20 regulars and however many other people who drop in and out over the months and years.

I actually did make some friends from reddit, because I joined a weekly book club someone started on there.

Anyway, there are ways.

My partner loves these and can't understand how I find them painfully spicy. Like sure there's some enjoyment to be had while slurping away, but as soon as I'm done the wheel of pain starts to turn and my body rebels against the assault with every cell seemingly screaming in unison

I suppose it's my own fault. I mean look at the packaging: that's a warning

Miss me with those RPGs where they spent too much budget on combat to make it optional

Screenshot of Mario Kart for SNES with text reading "give up?" And two choices shown: "yes" and "no." The option "no" is selected. Luigi is also pictured on the lower half of the screen.
