Twitch already has a dark mode available in the settings.

I think that this would be a security nightmare and would require a massive redesign for session cookies.

If anything they should be trying to lock cookies and sites assorted data to the specific device used to log in.

At the moment it is very easy for a criminal (once they have gained access) to nab your browser's entire profile and load it up on their computer giving them access to everything logged in on that profile.

What you are suggesting is something that would make the criminals jobs easier .

For flat beds like the one in the picture they should be up high.

My cat has one on top of a bookcase in my office that is her go to spot (seriously the nice cat tree I got her is only used for scratching and as a platform to get to the bed).

Enclosed beds usually work better on the ground as it allows them to feel safe.

You are thinking in human days.

That's why I stopped buying from the big brand manufacturers.

So many "system updates" that come out just before the new version is announced & suddenly your device is glitchy, slow and having constant problems.

I have been buying Nokia phones ever since. They aren't the fastest, have huge storage, nor all the flashy bling of the "flagship" products but over the years I have found that I don't need them.

Hell I even have a digital audio player so I can get better quality audio in a device smaller than most phones (plus I am not paying to rent music using streaming services).

From the what I have read it seems like this is a Gnome error causing problems for software.

You might be able to get better feedback if you post in one of the Linux specific communities.

If you try to open FF using the terminal does it give you any error messages?

The fix may only take a day or two but what about the processes and transactions that should have been running in that timeframe?

What about all the people who now need to be put onto later flights, warehouses and factories that now need to catch up after being at a standstill for hours, transport being delayed due to paperwork not being able to be sent. And so on.

Those all need to be fixed up before everything is back to running as normal (until the next big screw-up).

You can set a custom URL for your homepage and there is a "homepage" button you can add to your toolbar.

It would be nice to have a button that you can set to open a URL of your choice.

I don't use any Redtube links, maybe the odd Youtube link but I mostly save them to look at on my desktop.

I even tried to follow the link and it took me to a Google play store "app unavailable" screen.

I was looking through my Pi-hole logs and a strange URL is regularly coming up that I can't figure out what it is used for.

ap.syncforreddit.com

Does anyone have any insight?

I have the search bar added to the toolbar which I use to either search straight from it or use it to bring up google.

It looks like in the latest update you can no longer select the text box, hit enter and get taken to the search page.

You have to enter some text before it does so.

Does anyone else have the same issue?

I have recently upgraded my router from a nearly 7 year old consumer "gaming" router to a Mikrotik RB960PGS router.

So far I have been able to:

  • Remove all configurations
  • Set a long admin password
  • Create a bridge
  • Setup DHCP server
  • Set up NAT
  • Set up Spark NZ fibre connection
  • Update to latest stable firmware (7.15.2)
  • Set up basic IPv4 & IPv6 firewalls
  • Setup NTP & disable cloud/update time
  • Set DNS to my Pi-hole
  • Disabled the following IP services API, API-SSL, FTP, SSH, Telnet, & WWW-SSL
  • Turned off "detect internet"
  • Turned off "use peer dns" so all DNS goes through the Pi-Hole instead of the ISP's DNS servers.

Is there any other "gotcha's" or things that I should be setting up?

Just a PSA for anyone beating their head against a wall trying to figure out why snaps are not working on their Manjaro stable install.

The current top kernel (6.8.4-1) is bugged and causes snaps to give this error:

error: system does not fully support snapd: cannot mount squashfs image using "squashfs"

Apparently the newer version of the 6.8 kernel available in Manjaro testing works fine.

About a day ago this post was made over on sh.itjust.works.

~~It has proceeded to cause the Sync for Lemmy app to either fully crash or to crash and restart as reported here.~~

~~Upon testing it doesn't appear to be the image as when posting, the PNG image link, WEBP image link, embeding the PNG image or WEBP image, Sync can open or view the image without issue.~~

Edit: Sync has been fixed.

But the mystery gets deeper as the above testing works fine when using the default "lemmy.world" interface but when I attempt to post a link to the image using the "old.lemmy.world" interface it crashes to what appears to be the webpage within the comment section (as shown here).

This is what I was attempting to post ("lemmy.world" - Worked, "old.lemmy.world" - Malfunction).

Test link [Test](https://lemmy.ml/pictrs/image/b733f506-7837-415d-a761-e3bea08c0594.png)

This is a test link to see if it is the image

I am using Firefox 123.0 on Manjaro 23.1.3

Could you please have a look into this.
