Would you mind educating us plebs then? I had a similar question to op, and I can assure you, I definitely don't understand local auth services the way I probably should.

He has a legit point that Steve did not give LTT a chance to comment. "He doesn't have to!" Maybe. But he gave the other side a ton of airtime/chances to comment. It was very one sided and while GN made some good points, it felt like a hit piece. And Linux, imo rightfully, felt a little betrayed by a guy he'd worked with in the community.

His reaction wasn't great but it was that of a guy who was defending his team and from someone he'd probably consider a 'friend' impugning his integrity and dragging them without giving them any opportunity to comment or even letting him know it was coming--two very common practices/norms.

A unflattering view of GN vid is that he felt threatened by LTT labs entering the space and he wanted to get out in front of that an expose"how unreliable" they are. He didn't give LTT a heads up or allow them to comment because he knew they'd have a solid response. He blindsided him on purpose.

All that said, GN did Linus a favor. It accelerated his transition away from CEO and forced them to review their dumb production rates and the videos that are coming out now are better than ever.

Ironically, it left a sour taste in my mouth about Steve and I haven't watched any of his videos since.

"

Asked whether Piastri lends him enough help, Norris answered: “Yeah, he helps me. But I’m not here just to beg for someone to let me pass. That’s not why I’m here.

“I’m here to race. He drove a better race than me, so I finished third, and that’s where I deserved to finish.”

Hahahah! This is actually a sick burn after the race where the team had to beg Norris to slow down to let piastri pass.

Newborn diapers.

Get the cheapest Walmart special you can find. Newborns don't poop or pee enough to warrant fussing over fancy diapers.

Once they get bigger and the contents start getting...bigger, then spend more on better diapers.

This is solid advice. If you buy a cheap one and use it so much it breaks, you'll know you use it enough to warrant a nicer one.

If Norris doesn't give the spot back to piastri, then it would be more clear that Oscar should play the support role.

Any other government employee would be fired for this. They would be fired for the appearance of doing something like this.

So it sounds like, from the article, that ICE wasn't counting those individuals because CBP was/they were initially booked in by CBP?

The way this is written makes it sound super nefarious when it really seems like an interagency accounting mix-match.

Yea it should be addressed but it's written to sound like ICE was hiding 200k people in their facilities. Which is not the case.

At least the GOP and Trump are focused on things that will help move american forward. Things that help the average american tax payer. Things like making the presidency about yourself, something that's happened to you personally but more importantly helping another rich old white dude from a famous family.

Those are the kind of things I wish the Democrats spent more time on. Instead they are talking about healthcare for everyone, student debt relief, tackling price gouging, and increasing the taxes on billionaires. Seriously, wtf Harris Get a grip. I want to see the zepruder film and documents about an assisnated president that hasn't been relevant in 50 years.

If you already use pop with the cosmic plugin, it's going to be a better version of that. If you use something else then I'm not sure why youd care tbh.

Apex has been running smooth as butter (well, as smooth as apex can run :) ) for the last year or so on my PopOS machine. I haven't had to log into windows to game in about 18 months.

I noticed a few months ago that I would get errors / crashes, seeimingly randomly where 'pak' files wouldn't load. I'd get a wine-looking pop up with the message. I could fix it by Validating Game Files. Inevitably it would find corrupt or invalid files and redownload them and it would work again.

Something happened about ~4 weeks ago where it became much more frequent to the point where its now unplayable on PopOS.

I've done everything I can think of:

  • completely removed steam and all my games from my system and retried with the deb package in the store. (no luck)

  • completely removed that and my games and tried with the flatpak (same issues)

  • I even, thinking my ssd might be failing, bought a new one, cloned my stuff over to that, etc (no luck, same issues).

  • I just uninstalled the game again and am trying to redownload as I am typing this and it gets to the end, fails (corrupt update files), then puts me in a loop of validating, downloading, pausing download, etc.

All of my other games seem to work fine and update fine.

Apex works on my steamdeck. Apex works fine on this same machine on Windows 10.

I used inotify-tools to see if something was editing the files in between gaming sessions when it worked and when it didn't and nothing seems to be accessing let alone updating/writing to those files. So the corruption or whatever happens during use.

I have tried Proton experimental and literally every version back until it wouldn't even make sense to run. I tried the last 5 or so ProtonGE versions as well.

The thing is: Is this a Pop issue? Is it an Apex issues? Is it a proton issue? Is it a steam issue?

I don't even know where to post this 'issue' too.

For what its worth, I am happy to try and run this down and provide whatever logs may help. I could learn some auditd!

HALP!
