Thanks for the direct link, this is a great little time waster.

Being decent is too far to the right for the Tankie class to stomach. Duly noted.

These posts are doing a little more than providing your agitprop a space to die by a thousand cuts. Adults don't get "worked up" over taking out the trash.

I think that the team working on the DLC did the best they could with what time and resources they were given, which isn’t a stretch to guess wasn’t enough,” ROR2 lead programmer, co-designer, and concept artist Jeffrey Hunt told PCGamesN. “I remember the team at Gearbox we worked with on the Survivors of the Void DLC was doing really well, particularly on the new stages.” Still, Hunt said, “Seeing some of the rushed changes crippling that work is difficult.

"Right direction" my ass.

If they think this is bad, just wait until the tools to make games are further democratized. It's already difficult to stay up with the latest hotness in the Indie scene and people are burned out on live service shenanigans.

I'd never posit that all reviewers are pandering to large publishers, but rather that the majority have absolutely seen score creep that now rewards mediocrity with 7/10 in order to maintain access. This is why I unapologetically turn to a more trusted source first.

It absolutely is. Not to whinge over the state of the gaming press as I'm not one of those guys, but with that said I personally stack weight behind EG's reviews before looking elsewhere. Not to say that they are the best/most objective in their field, but rather that they are consistent and don't seem to pander to publishers. Happy to hear of any other sites that leave others feeling the same.

..and to be honest, after reading a bit more the game doesn't look bad, only middling.

Eurogamer - 2/5 Stars - "Stripped-back Ubisoft formula is admirable yet doomed"

Shocker.

Edit: Apologies for starting this off negative. I'm just tired of Ubisoft and AAA in general and didn't intend to knock the shine off of something that some folks are looking forward to.

Ignore the necrotic, segmented, invertebrate behind the curtain...

Well there's a provocative anecdote if I've ever seen one. Well done.

Since moving to Linux this is at least the second time there have been issues with MS screwing up dual boot via grub. I switched to systemd-boot after the first incident, and thank goodness for that.

Mark Ruffalo spoke about what’s next, and told his followers we have our “marching orders”.
"No to Trump/Vance. No to the right-wing Christian religious takeover of our nation. Nothing wrong with Christianity; just shouldn’t be running a nation birthed from freedom of religion.”

Appreciate someone saying this loud and proud.

As an older, and increasingly jaded gamer, I'm having a hard time remembering when I've last been so excited over a release as this one. Riven is seemingly getting the gold-standard treatment with a ground-up remake that not only utilizes 3D (and VR) to give depth to the world but also adds new content while keeping the visuals near one-to-one.
My favorite part of Riven personally is the excellent soundtrack, I can't wait to hear it while wandering around and exploring this space all over again. Cheers, Lemmy!

Michael Hallett, a professor of criminology at the University of North Florida who studied the effects of “Cops,” said he viewed the NYPD’s forays into social media as a natural response to a digital media ecosystem that rewards speed and sensationalism.

The proliferation of body-camera footage and, increasingly, drones, have made it easy for police to create their own reality series, free of delays imposed by the TV gear and network schedules, he said.

“They now have a proactive and sophisticated messaging system that is designed and intended to deliver messages on behalf of the police agenda,” Hallett added. “In the negotiation for control of the message, that gives them the upper hand.”
