I'm not a vegan, none of those memes you've posted make me feel personally attacked nor do I feel insulted. I'm glad for the clarification, but I was expecting something much worse like a vegan death cult manifesto by the reactions here.

You don't want to silence yourself from a community you're not a part of by your own admission? Do you really feel it's your duty to go into every community and mandate their content and tone to your liking?

I guess you can look at it as "hiding" to curate your feed by removing the communities you're not interested in. I don't think you're really challenging their opinions, just kinda being a douche. I see plenty of shit posted about windows or apple users, we're not pitch forking everyone that posts a spicy meme. We insult the rich and powerful etc, what class of protection are you proposing to secure? The omnivores? Who's going to police what's hostile or insulting? I don't understand what this call to action is trying to implement or suggest besides outside policing of communities which is one of the reasons the fediverse was made to combat that type of control.

how many degrees of endorsement do we need to get to the bacon?

people really need to stop confusing an upvote/downvote to basic democratic voting. There is no ticker above the ballot box letting you know how everyone voted before you, there is no "policy" or "elected position" being voted on. This is more akin to an open conference debate where people are booing or yaying when someone speaks up about a topic. Your privacy on a public forum discussion never existed to begin with, people in a public setting know their anonymity isn't guaranteed.

oh phew, for a second I thought you were saying that about Gooden. I don't watch him all the time but I've ran into some of his videos that I enjoyed. Don't think I've ever ran into cody so thankfully that's a bullet dodged.

I'm just tired of my electronics doing "extra". I want to pause the video/player, I don't want that to activate other activities for my device to perform...I just want to pause the fucking video. They're all guilty of this though, either they show ads or screenshots of what they want you to watch next. I can't even pause a video anymore to look at something or show something. The amount of times I've paused to have a discussion and the distracting shit plays in the background annoyed me to the point I no longer use the "smart tv" to watch anything and only use the tv hooked up to the comp so I can actually control and have a pleasant viewing experience.

My mind couldn't contemplate the title when I first read it. I thought this was some sort of AI art or deep fake "blender" program that he was selling nudes or vids of her that he had constructed.... the whole actual person being put into a blender just didn't even compute.

The whole premise of the article? There's 2 statements in the entire article that you've highlighted, a rather long and lengthy article about the development and history behind the game developer. Your statements of "what the article is saying" is completely false,

is pretending the sale is some runaway success in the west

where does it say this?

article completely ignores the source of the sales volume

Article clearly states it's sales, touches on the current chinese population use of steam, I'm not sure what you're saying should be the "correct" thing that would satisfy you. Maybe you could provide an example?

The actual impact it’s going to have is much less on the development of AAA games by Chinese studios and much more as a demonstration of the Chinese market’s interest in single player games.

That's a valid statement with a lot of factors (younger generations play more multiplayer). It wasn't the scope of this article to break down consumer purchasing trends within a category (this thing is already long enough).

This seemed like a very milquetoast level style of an article highlighting the success and development of a game studio, I suppose everyone complains in the gaming industry now adays (myself included) so I'll take your negativity more as a "gamer" thing than just hating on something not from the west. I'm rather glad to be exposed to news articles on here that aren't NA eccentric that I'm always reading. Them not highlighting and differentiating themselves from the western market has seemed to gotten you into a hissy fit.

I gotta say, this article makes me feel sane again.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

that just about says everything I needed to know about you.

TIL you can litter train a bunny, really wish I knew that growing up since my family had a pet bunny when I was young and had to constantly clean up after it. I was wondering how anyone could do this with a bunny shitting all over the house.

Been slowly running into more results from DDG that seem to have some "personal parameter" or difference in search results. I had a search saved from some months ago, went to check it for some references and got new hits involving local organizations that had nothing to do with the search. Opening up a private browser I see that the searches aren't 100% matching up either.

I see this as only getting worse, I want to be able to enter a search and it searches for my query. Not based on my personality or whatever info is being collected. Does anyone know a search engine that's reliable and focuses on giving the same results and doesn't try this "personalized" crap?

Full build details can be found at the following link.

This will probably be a weekly spotlight for DIY creators with full instructions. If there is someone you want to nominate for next week, just leave a link below in the comments.

Felt inspired. Be gentle, please make any salty comments or downvotes in comic form.

Really decently made by Power543 fan films. I'm not sure how I feel about ret-conning footage putting the character in but I suppose with such a limited cast like Universe you would have to insert someone. There's talk of a Star Trek/Stargate crossover (another fan made film in the link) that they're developing, hopefully it comes to existence.

I wanted to share and highlight this video for others to see. This is such a thorough and amazing resource for the dev team at Frost Giant (the makers of Stormgate) that I hope they have seen. The breakdown and walk-through of the different elements of the game was such an amazing thing to watch.

I found myself sitting there watching for hours, this is exactly what game companies need in terms of experienced game tester leads that can articulate and explain everything going on in the game from the perspective of an average player. I think if every game company had someone of this caliber, to sit down with them and go over the basic mechanics of the games, we would all be a lot better off. I felt like I was sitting in on a company meeting while an outside contractor was going over his notes with the developers and trying to understand their vision while giving his unique and experienced position.

I'm definitely more excited about the game than I was previously after watching this video (as confusing as that might seem). It shows a clear path of how to fix and enhance the gameplay which has a chance to come into fruition with the game still in the testing phase.

This was another DIY project I ran across that looks a little less intimidating than Kristian Tysse's Stargate Project.

The link has full build instructions, how to order parts, and 3d models for completion. If you're looking at getting into diy electronics and love stargate this could be a cool project for yourself or a loved one! (I think I'm getting ready to gear up for something like this)

Youtube clip of the project.

I ran into an old movie I had on VHS as a kid titled "MegaForce" (1982) (RT link). I hadn't seen the movie in decades and was worried looking at a rotten tomato score of 6% that if I watched it, I would be completely disappointed in the movie as an adult. Surprisingly, I didn't realize as a kid that it was actually more of a spoof comedy action movie like a knock-off "Hot Shots" or "Naked Gun" and just completely enjoyed watching it again because it felt like a whole new experience (definitely better than the new G.I. Joe's lol).

So what's your movie from your past that you'll always enjoy no matter how cheesy or horrible it may seem?

I'm not sure how I first ran into it but it seems there are a lot of paintball places that embrace the Stargate franchise! There is a permanent zone for our UK family,

Paintball UK - Stargate Zone

Another mention that has unfortunately passed, The Swamp Fun Park had a stargate themed event "STARGATE: THE NID PROBLEM CONTINUES". Found a vid from someone participating, really wish they recorded the scenario briefing and the lore behind what they were doing though.

If you're into both of these aspects, definitely look around because I've found a lot of different ones that have expired but seems to be a reoccurring theme people like to use.

I've been seeing more often (and others have posted the same) that some of the elements of "Reddit etiquette" seem to be taking over here. Luckily I can still find discussion comments but it seems the jokes and general "downvote because I disagree" are slowly taking over.

So the question becomes is it the size or the functionality of the site? The people or popularity? What's your thoughts?

edit: should I change it to Lemmy-hivemind? Exhibit A: the amount of downvotes without a single explanation (guessing it's anything to do with Reddit being talked about).

If you don't have the original movie on hand to sync play, you can find it streaming for free on the following platforms:

Pluto TV - Stargate

Roku Channel - Stargate

Tubi TV - Stargate

I'm unsure if all of the links will work for our international friends, if you have a similar link then please share in the comments below.
