It’s more accurate to say dems turned into his version of republicans than to say he’s turned into a dem.

This is great, the governator is basically making yo momma jokes at Trump's expense:

"Yo daddy so fat he runs around himself to lose weight!"

[–] [email protected] 49 points 11 months ago (6 children)

To be honest the weight of Trump is the thing I least care about. i just don't understand picking on it

[–] [email protected] 85 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Arnold wants everyone to be healthy regardless of their physical location.

[–] [email protected] 34 points 11 months ago

Or their political affiliation

[–] [email protected] 54 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It's hilarious because he harps on everyone else's appearance, while looking like microwaved orange sherbet.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 11 months ago (3 children)

True, but like at least half of Americans are obese. It makes a lot of people sensitive to fat jokes.

I don’t think it’s so much his weight, it is all the lying about it.

Arnold is an expert on fitness. He's taking a verbal stab at Trump because Trump clearly doesn't want to be honest about his own weight. So Arnold is offering his expert advice to Trump about how to actually drop weight instead of lying about your weight like Trump did when he was arrested and processed.

It's just a lot like Kim Jong Un or Putin, where he seriously pictures himself looking like Vin diesel. And so do his followers. All those maga flags and political comics actually give him a six pack and make him 6'5. It's gross and kind of scary.

dude doesn't care about himself, he doesn't care about his own children or wives, he doesn't care about you, he doesn't care about humanity. it's all connected.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 11 months ago (1 children)

That's not fair. He cares a lot about Ivanka's ass.

Title in lemmy has very different meaning to the article title

[–] [email protected] 42 points 11 months ago (1 children)

"If he would ask me what should you do for fitness, I would just say, 'Run around yourself three times. You’re going to be in great shape.'"

[–] [email protected] 11 points 11 months ago

funnier than the original I think

[–] [email protected] 11 points 11 months ago

I think the title of the article was different before, it mentions a correction and misquote.

When someone lies about easy disprovable things, and shows how insecure about unimportant things they are, they disqualify themselfes from important decision making for all of us. And reasonable people get it. Maturing is on the inside. So yes its important. Sadly.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 11 months ago

Trump isn’t as fat as everyone says. His full diaper takes up as much space in his husky pants as his giant ass.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (3 children)

OP @[email protected] , can you please edit your title to properly reflect the updated article? yourself vs. your cell. It may reduce confusion.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Done! Sorry it took me so long.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 11 months ago (3 children)

Thanks! Little things like allowing you to edit titles and OPs that actually listen to feedback are what I love about being here on Lemmy.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

You’re going to be in great shape,’” Schwarzenegger quipped during a Monday appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

The dig from California’s former GOP governor — a reference to the 91 criminal charges that Trump’s facing in his multiple indictments — came after Kimmel asked Schwarzenegger about the 45th president’s arrest records.

When he turned himself in at Georgia’s Fulton County jail in August over charges related to the 2020 election, Trump’s weight was recorded at 215 pounds.

“Do you think it is possible that he weighs 215 pounds?” Kimmel asked the former bodybuilder, who served on the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports in the 1990s.

Kimmel noted that Schwarzenegger no longer “[seemed] like a Republican” due to his longtime activism to fight climate change and his views on other hot-button issues.

Saying he sometimes touches down in Washington to lobby both Democrats and Republicans to fund after-school programs, Schwarzenegger exclaimed, “I think what we need is really leadership to bring people together and to teach both parties not to look at the other side as the enemy.”

The original article contains 486 words, the summary contains 174 words. Saved 64%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!

[–] [email protected] 38 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I think what we need is really leadership to bring people together and to teach both parties not to look at the other side as the enemy.

Looking in from the outside (another country) it seems like republicans are very much acting like the enemy (of the democrats, the people, a livable planet, common sense, ...) in every possible way and no amount of leadership or compromise will get them to act in good faith.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago

Yeah as an American I can disagree with people about a lot civilly. Republicans are not acting in good faith or towards acceptable goals. There was once room for considering them not the enemy but that time has passed. If they want to stop being my enemy they can stop being republicans. They’re fortunate enough that the trait that brings them enmity can be discarded.
