GM and EVgo plan more ‘flagship’ EV charging locations that look like gas stations (www.theverge.com)

GM and EVgo are collaborating to build “flagship” EV charging stations at urban sites with a total of 400 EV charging stalls.

The flagship stations are cobranded by GM Energy, the automaker’s battery and charging division, and EVgo. The stations will be located in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York, and Texas at places with shopping, food, coffee shops, and other amenities.

Each station will include 20 fast charging stalls with units supporting up to 350kW speeds, pull-through stations, security cameras, and gas station-style canopies with ample lighting. The first locations featuring EVgo’s latest easy-deploying and modular prefabricated charging stations will open in 2025.

Too bad their credit card readers don't work and it takes 5-10 min to start charging. These stations are total shit. Only good thing is I don't have to unhook the trailer. We need stronger federal regulations.

UK desperately needs more pull thru spaces. Having to unhook to charge is painful

Seems like a smart move. Might help with idiots who decide to park their ice trucks in charging stalls, if they feel more like a gas station.

In the UK APNR cameras are starting to roll out to some providers to automatically issue parking fines to people icing charging spaces or people hogging spaces after they finished charging. I think this will be needed in the short term, was particularly needed in one very busy car park I've used to keep ice cars from parking there as there nowhere else to park.
