La tastiera ~~open source~~ a codice disponibile realizzata da FUTO è un'ottima alternativa alla tastiera preinstallata sul proprio smartphone e anche alle tastiere più famose come quella di Google o di Microsoft.

Si è aggiornata alla versione 0.1.23 con alcuni cambiamenti ed è arrivata ora anche alla alla 0.1.23.2 per sistemare alcuni piccoli problemi.

Nella nuova versione la barra delle azioni è stata ridisegnata e ora si trova sopra la tastiera. È possibile avere le azioni preferite sempre pronte all'uso a un solo tocco, senza che la barra dei suggerimenti venga oscurata.

È ora possibile riorganizzare le azioni e cambiare la loro posizione nel menu Tutte le azioni > Modifica azioni, oppure è possibile modificarle nelle impostazioni dell'app. I preferiti appaiono nella barra espansa e al posto del tasto di immissione vocale. È inoltre possibile assegnare un tasto azione personalizzato che appare accanto alla barra spaziatrice. Per impostazione predefinita è impostato su Emoji, ma è possibile modificarlo in Tasto cambio lingua o altro.

So possono ora configurare i tasti aggiuntivi che appaiono quando vengono premuti a lungo: ad esempio, è possibile disattivare i simboli o impostare le lettere accentate come predefinite rispetto ai numeri o ai simboli. È stata abilitata la ricerca tra le Emoji.

Got recommended a video going over this keyboard. Looks pretty good so far despite being in an alpha!

I came across this purely by accident, but it checks pretty much all of my boxes for a good keyboard:

✅ It is simple, beautiful, and customizable. (I like to use AMOLED black, and increase the height a bit)

✅ It has built in offline voice typing. I had been using sayboard for this which was not bad, but so far this is a little quicker and more accurate.

✅ It has easy to use settings (I used ASK for years despite the mess of the settings)

✅ ~~It's FOSS~~. Edit: Apparently, it's currently under a development license that limits certain types of use. The source code is open, and the stated intent is to make it fully FOSS when it is completed.

✅ It has swipe typing. I was using heliboard with a gesture typing library added, but it'snice to have it built in.

It has some interesting features like using an adjustable LLM for text prediction. It will be really interesting to see how it shapes out.
