I knew it!! When I was a kid I was told cats don't have facial expressions but they so do!

I think that people compare cats to dogs as both are common pets. Dogs are very expressive, while with cats you have to pay attention and spend some effort to learn their behavior and habits. Many people don't have time or interest for that.

That would make sense. The cats in my life have always seemed super expressive to me but I was infatuated with our family cat pretty much from birth.
