This configuration is wildly unbalanced and expensive.
It seems that the mechanical keyboard alone is a large part of the cost.
I do agree this is a very niche product.
with just the $45 difference, I doubt it's about the keyboard.
That's true. But it adds up.
And it is a small batch project, even outside of IT, small batch is always pricey.
